National Payments Corporation of India and Reserve Bank of India jointly launched on 11 April 2016. NPCI organization works to monitor the Transactions happening from one bank to another. Let me explain to you with an example. Suppose you have HDFC Bank ATM card from which you want to withdraw money but there is no HDFC Bank ATM nearby. But there is an ATM of another bank, so you can withdraw money by going to that ATM. Now NPCI monitors the transactions between these two banks.

What is UPI ID And How it Works ?

To use UPI, you should download and install any of the above apps from Google Play Store or the App Store on your smart phone. Because UPI is used through these apps only. Sign in after the app is installed. The mobile you use to sign in is linked to your account. In which you will get OTP. OTP is used to confirm your account. After this, the interface of that App appears in front of you. Where you have to create UPI ID. This is called Virtual Payment Address (VPA). Because of this UPI ID, we are able to do transactions. UPI ID is different for all mobiles. For example, the UPI ID of PhonePay is like 8104@ybl.

If you want to send payment from any such UPI App, then you need to know the UPI ID of the next one. To know your own UPI ID, when you open your UPI App, then an ID is written on the front side of it, it is called UPI ID. It is unique like our mobile number.
